Joint Sino-Russian Academic Excellence Programme
"Language Services in a Disruptive World"
The Russia-China Joint Academic Excellence Project "Language Services in a Disruptive World" is an academic project jointly carried out by Russian and Chinese educational institutions.

The project was initiated by the educational institution Literra Education Centre (Russia), which is among top 20 language service companies in Eastern Europe, united 25 Russian universities and Chinese educational institutions such as the Language Service Competence Assessment & Training Centre (PRC), aiming to improve the English ability, translation skills, and language service practice level of English teachers in Chinese colleges and universities.

At the same time, this project also provides opportunities for these teachers to study the theoretical foundations of a language or training method in a specialised postgraduate programme at Russian universities.
The programme lasts 3 academic years and includes:
1. "Specialised English" course (industry-specific 100-hour course based on the translation and localisation expertise of the leading Russian language service companies) with a completion certificate by a licensed CPD institution, Literra Education Centre;

2. "Introduction to Language Service Industry" 16-hour course designed by Literra Education Centre with participation of members of the Russian Association of Translation Companies;

3. "Language Service" course (300-hour course provided by the Language Service Competence Assessment and Training Centre, involving interpretation and translation practice, machine translation post-editing, and corpus processing);
      4. "InternationalLanguage Service Teacher Certification" issued by the International Language Service Institute of Beijing Language and Culture University, after passing the assessment;

      5. Doctoral programme at one of the 25 universities in Russia in one of the three majors:

      - Specialisation 5.9.6 "Languages of Peoples of Foreign Countries (Germanic Languages)"

      - Specialisation 5.9.8 "Theoretical, Applied and Comparative Linguistics"
